PFS's Principle (Michael Koziol) has earned two of the highest accreditations that ACAT offers. Michael has earned both the accredited tax advisor (ATA) and the accredited tax preparer (ATP).

The Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT) is an independent accrediting and monitoring organization affiliated with the National Society of Accountants. ACAT accredits professional in independent practice who have demonstrated measurable knowledge of the principles, practices, and ethical standards of accounting, taxation, information technology and related financial services.

ACAT's Mission
To accredit professionals who have demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices, and ethical standards of accounting, taxation, information technology and related financial services in order to maintain the highest level of services to the public; to promote the value, recognition and the use of the ACAT credentials; to protect the ability to use the earned credentials.

Accredited Tax Advisor® (ATA)
This credential is for practitioners who handel sophisticated tax planning issues, including ownership of closely held businesses, qualified retirement plans and complex estates. You must have five years of experience in tax preparation, compliance, tax planning and consulting.

Accredited Tax Prepare® (ATP)
This credential is for practitioners who demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the existing tax code and the preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns. You must have three years of work experience in tax preparation.
